Independence Day is approaching, and the Fourth of July weekend is packed with fun events. Here are a few festive activities and firework shows to attend in Lincoln and surrounding areas.
Lincoln Saltdogs Firework Fridays (403 Line Circle Drive- Lincoln, NE)
Get a head start into Fourth of July weekend with a firework display after Friday night’s baseball game at Haymarket Park.
Independence Day Celebration (Nebraska City, Nebraska)
This small town celebration will run from July 1st through the 4th. Activities include a carnival, live music, baseball, face painting and a petting zoo. Fireworks will be at 8:00 on July 1st.
Uncle Sam Jam- Oak Lake Park (First and Charleston- Lincoln, NE)
Food, music by Soul Dawg at 6:00, canoeing and archery are a few of the activities planned. The fireworks display is at 10:00.
Wahoo’s Old-Fashioned Fourth of July (Hackberry Park- Wahoo, NE)
Activities will include an egg toss, stepping stone races, wheelbarrow races and sack races, along with a parade at noon. An 1860’s style baseball game will be held at 7:30, before the 10:00 firework show.
Fourth of July City- (Plum Creek Park- Seward, NE)
Seward is known for its Independence Day activities. There will be a car show, National Guard Museum tour, live entertainment and a Grand Parade at 4:00. There will be a craft show and several vendors in the square from 9:00-4:00. Fireworks follow at 10:00.
